Information regarding the Japan Sea coastal earthquake

Our thoughts go out to those affected by the recent earthquake of January 1st, centered in the Noto Peninsula. The earthquake has caused damage to roads and infrastructure in the Ishikawa Prefecture region and some coastal areas of Niigata Prefecture.

Canyons Myoko winter operations were affected on January 2nd as ski resorts underwent safety checks but as of January 3rd all resorts have resumed normal operations and all train lines from Tokyo to Yuzawa, Myoko, Minakami and Nozawa areas are running.

For those people considering visiting the Niigata areas of Yuzawa or Myoko, one of the best ways you can support the area is by being a tourist, and spending money to support the local economies.
